GFGRG offers small grants to support event attendance and activities that advance feminist and gender-focused geographical scholarship.

GFGRG Conference Attendance Award
The GFGRG is offering a limited number of Conference Attendance Awards to student/low-income scholars working in the area of gender and feminist geographies who will be attending the RGS Annual Conference this year but do not have institutional funding to cover the costs.
The award will cover reasonable UK travel costs and the cost of early, student/low-income registration up to a total of £300. We regret that we cannot fund international travel. Priority will be given to those participating in GFGRG-sponsored panels.
Please fill out the online form linked below before the deadline of Friday, 15 May, 2026. Please note we are always heavily oversubscribed, and so we regret that most applicants will be unsuccessful.
As part of the award, recipients will be warmly invited to attend the GFGRG AGM, get more involved with the group’s activities, and write a short blog post about their experience of the conference.
If you have any queries or would like any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the GFGRG chair, Cordelia Freeman, at c.freeman@exeter.ac.uk.
There are currently no further grants or awards available. Please check back soon or follow us on social media for updates.

Call for Event Proposals 2025/2026
The GFGRG welcomes proposals for events that align with our aim to support and promote feminist geographical research and practice. We can offer sponsorship of up to £300 for workshops, panels, reading groups, creative projects, or community collaborations that advance feminist and gender-focused geographical work, but we welcome proposals below that amount.
If you would like to submit a proposal, please complete the form below and send it to Cordelia Freeman (c.freeman@exeter.ac.uk) by 15 January 2026.
Depending on the number of requests received, we may be able to reopen the call later in the year.
